It is today reputed as a centre dedicated to delivering personalised and expert care to well and sick neonates, children and adolescents in and around Mysore.

NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
NICU in Sigma Hospital, Mysore is fully equipped and staffed 24/7, to care for critically ill neonates. The facilities include, neonatal ventilators, bubble CPAP, high flow nasal cannula oxygen, LED phototherapy units, total parenteral nutrition, bedside X Ray, ECHO and neurosonogram to name a few .The hospital has a fully equipped 24 hrs lab and pharmacy, in house dietician and lactation consultant . Being a hospital specializing in renal diseases, Sigma NICU is also capable of managing neonates requiring peritoneal dialysis. Sigma NICU has successfully treated many sick babies in and around Mysore at affordable rates for the last 10 years
The 9 bedded Level III NICU is fully equipped and supported by well trained and experienced staff. We resuscitate and stabilize preterm and/or ill infants. We regularly care for newborns with RDS, TTN, Meconium Aspiration Syndrome, Pneumonia, Septicemia, Meningitis, HIE and Congenital Abnormalities, Hyperbilirubinemia requiring Phototherapy and Exchange Transfusion.
We provide care for infants born upto 26 weeks’ gestation and weighing < 1kg who have physiologic immaturity such as apnea of prematurity, inability to maintain body temperature, or inability to take oral feedings.
We provide Surfactant Therapy, Mechanical Ventilation,Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, and HHHFNC to newborns with severe respiratory illnesses
PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) :
Our PICU provides intensive care services to critically ill infants, children and adolescents.
Bronchiolitis, Acute Severe Asthma, Broncho Pneumonia, Pneumonia with Empyema, Dengue Shock Syndrome, Meningitis, Encephalitis, Septicemia, Diabetic Keto Acidosis, Acute Renal Failure, Cardiac Failure, Status Epilepticus are few of the cases we manage routinely here.
Pediatric Surgery: The neonatal surgeries for congenital abnormalities like Anal Atresias, Tracheooesophageal Fistula, Hirschprungs Disease, Diaphragmatic Hernia, Intestinal Volvulus,and Intestinal Atresia are being done by the team headed by Dr Anilkumar.
Pediatric surgeries done here include:
Hernia and Hydroceole, Video assisted Thoracoscopy, Pediatric Gastro Intestinal Surgery, Pediatric Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery, Various laparoscopic pediatric Surgeries
Pediatric Urology: Neonatal and Pediatric surgeries (open surgeries and laparoscopic surgeries) for all genitourinary problems including congenital kidney diseases causing obstruction, Hypospadias Repair, Urolithiasis ( kidney stones) and are performed by the Department of Urology.
This department has expert surgeons who have performed the only
Pediatric Renal Transplantation in Mysore city.
Outpatient Services:
Our OPD treats and cares for over 11,500 infants, children and adolescents annually. We offer free immunisations through the government of India in addition to all other vaccines available
worldwide.
At our well child clinic we conduct, growth and development monitoring of normal and high risk neonates, infants and children in addition to offering nutritional advice, hearing screening and
newborn screening tests.
